Bangalore to Bungle-loo-rue

I think that it is time that our politicians erected the statue of marie antoniette all over the country. After all they seem to live out her most famous words with every action of theirs "If you don't have bread, eat cake".
Take the case of renaming Bangalore. You would imagine that our men in white would be trying to fix the abysmal infrastructure, power and water problems of the city, given the hardship that the citizens of the city face. But you and i have ordinary minds unlike politicians who have decided that it would be better to focus their energies on trying to change the name of the city. I would love to say that this one caught me out cold, but sadly that is not the case. It happened to Bombay, to Madras and Calcutta so well it's only to be expected that Bangalore should meet the same fate.
But then perhaps Dharam Singh knows that if he does last out his current tenure he would only be remembered as the man who looked like an oily vendor of sub-standard sweets who took the city a few steps back instead of forward. Now at least he will be remembered as the man who restored kannda pride - kannadigas in bangalore if he is to be believed are more concerned about the name of the city than the state it is in - by changing the name of the city to reflect kannada greatness.
That however is only one theory. I believe that Dharam Singh is an honourable man who has decided with the help of his english professor friend UR Ananthamurthy, a proud champion of the name change (it's hard to imagine that this is the same man who once wrote perhaps one of India's finest novels called Samskara), to give the city a new English name that reflects its current state.
As old timers will tell you Bangalore stood for sylvan surroundings, a gentle life and mild mannered people. The city we see today is no longer that. The politicians before Dharam Singh (the current CM is never to blame) have over the years turned it into a concrete bungle. So that's the spelling for the first part of the new name. It also is definitely more stinky thanks to more open sewers bad sanitation and therefore the loo is also appropriate in the name. And of course all us citizens rue what the mn in white have done to the city and therefore that too is appropriate.
So Bungle - loo - rue it is and ten year from now the children born in 2006 can be expected as part of their history lesson. Name the CM who gave Bungle-loo-rue its name. And thus is Dharam Singh immortalised

As for you and me remmber that sab maya hai and that shit by any other name still stinks
